Awesome ModCloth Stuff Part 1- Dresses

ModCloth.com has been one of my favourite websites for ages. It sells the most amazing vintage and indie clothes; there's literally thousands of things that I would love to own. Ironically, I've never actually bought anything off the site, because I don't like to buy things over the Internet, but I love to browse through the archives anyway. My favourites are the dresses; I have a weakness for pretty frocks, and I've found hundreds of them on ModCloth.com. It was so hard to choose between them, but I've posted a few favourites here.

Karlie Kloss

Karlie is one of my favourite models; I think that since she has so much personality, she adds something extra to all the outfits she wears. She's really unique, not just another skinny, androgynous young girl. No matter what crazy things she's wearing, I can always recognise her straight away. Plus, I seriously want those eyebrows, and I wouldn't mind having her legs either.

Rodarte Wheatfield Dresses

I think these dresses are so lovely. It's such an original idea; I've seen thousands of dresses with floral prints, but these are the first dresses I've seen with wheatfield prints on them. There was a picture in one of my magazines of two Rodarte models standing side by side in these dresses, and the wheatfield prints on each dress matched each other perfectly. I love the way that the upper portion of the grey dress looks like a stormy sky.

Miu Miu Fall 2011

I usually don't like Miuccia Prada's designs that much, but I loved this collection. The retro style of the clothes is so cute! I've gone to so many vintage stores looking for stuff like this, but I never seem to find anything good. My favourite is the red dress with the gorgeous white floral print, worn by Sigrid Agren. Love the shoes too! Sparkly!

My Favourite Dress Of All Time

I fell in love with this Alexander McQueen dress the first time I saw it in one of my magazines. I love how the black detailing looks like some kind of monster. That's one of the things I really liked about McQueen's designs; a lot of them were slightly disturbing or creepy. If I owned this dress, I would wear it everywhere, even while ironing, just to make boring, everyday things a little more interesting. I do actually like ironing, though. Yeah, I have some exciting hobbies.

Freja Beha Erichsen

Seriously loving this girl at the moment. Freja is Danish, and she was the face of Chanel for several seasons before Blake Lively took over. I think she has the most beautiful face, but she's also really edgy... a lot of people see her as the postergirl for the androgynous look. I love her haircut too! I'd like to get my hair cut like this, but since my hair is quite wavy, it would probably just stick straight out from my head.

I really like the way Freja dresses as well. At the moment I'm really into tailored pants and blazers, and this is exactly the kind of outfit I'd like to be wearing during winter. My mum just gave me a houndstooth blazer that she bought during the 80s, and I can't wait to start wearing it! Unfortunately, it smells a bit musty from hanging in the closet for about twenty years, so I have to get it drycleaned first.

Aww. She looks so cute when she smiles!

My favourite thing about Freja is how versatile she is; like I mentioned earlier, she works the androgynous look perfectly, but she can also look really fresh and feminine, or glamorous and sexy. I think that's exactly what a good model should be able to do.

I'll definitely keep posting stuff about more of my favourite models... I have dozens of them! I think I might post something about Karlie Kloss next.
